How it works
Rent it, lend it, review it
In Good Company is two things at once: students renting party gear from each other, and students sharing which local vendors are actually worth booking.
If you're renting
Browse by event
Pick the occasion — tailgate, birthday, grad dinner — and see what students near campus have listed for it.
Request & pick up
Ask for your dates, message the lender, arrange a campus pickup. Booking and payment go live at launch.
Return & review
Bring it back in the condition you got it, then leave an honest review so the next person plans with less guesswork.
If you're lending
List your item
Photo, short description, condition, and a price — we show a suggested range so you're not guessing.
Approve requests
You see who's asking and for when. You approve every booking; nothing leaves your hands without your yes.
Get paid
Payouts land after the item comes back. Payout accounts are set up at launch — not during the preview.
Trust & safety
Students only
At launch, every account is tied to a verified Tulane email. During the founding preview, the catalog is limited to the founding team.
If something breaks
Every listing will show a deposit amount before you book. Report damage with photos through the booking, and both sides get a say — our Customer Service team steps in on damage, no-shows, and late returns. Full written terms go up before real money moves.
Report a listing or review
Anything that looks fake or unsafe can be flagged, and it goes straight to a human on our team — not an automated queue.
Higher bar for party buses
Transport is our highest-stakes category, so those vendors get extra vetting and safety is the first thing every review rates.
FAQ
Is this live? Can I book something now?
Not yet. This is a founding preview of what In Good Company will be. Browsing works; booking, payments, and accounts turn on when we launch at Tulane in Fall 2026.
Who can use it?
Tulane undergraduates to start — roughly 8,200 students — beginning with Greek life event chairs, RAs, and student orgs who plan events every semester.
What if a rented item gets damaged?
You report it through the booking with photos, and our Customer Service team works it out with both sides. Each listing shows a deposit amount before you book; the full damage policy is being finalized before real bookings open.
How do payments work?
At launch, renters pay through the site and lenders are paid out after the item is returned. We haven't turned that on yet — nothing is charged during the founding preview.
How do you decide which vendors show up?
Vendors appear when a student who actually booked them writes a review. Nothing is paid placement. Party buses get extra vetting before they're listed at all.
Can I lend stuff that isn't in your categories?
Probably — if it helps someone throw a party. Start with List your stuff and pick the closest category.
